Kalyan Bidhan Sinha completed his schooling from Hindu School in Calcutta in 1960. He pursued his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta, which he obtained from the University of Calcutta in 1963. He then went on to pursue a Master’s degree from the University of Delhi in 1965. In 1969, Sinha earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Rochester.
Following his doctoral studies, Sinha worked as a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Geneva. During this time, he co-authored a renowned book on scattering theory with Werner Amrein and Josef-Maria Jauch. The book employed mathematically rigorous methods to advance the subject.
